The Marshall Tucker Band was the first live concert I ever saw, and they played nearly every song off this album. While short in length, every song is rock solid. The whole album gives off a wonderful, western type mood. Not country, not your standard southern rock, either, but it's an album that is made for listening to under the stars (which I've had occasion to do more than once). The best song is saved for last. You just can't beat this live version of Can't You See. While the studio version on their first album is a beautiful version in its own right, this one has fire in it and soars to a whole 'nother level. Toy Caldwell's rough and ragged vocals fit his lyrics perfectly, and as usual his stellar guitar work completes the package perfectly. ~Allmusic
