Т. Nikolaeva's concert activities, having begun even before the pianist's victory at the Bach International Competition in 1950, have continued for more than 40 years. And all this time the artist's appearances in many cities of the USSR and tours in more than 35 foreign countries have been an invariable success. Nikolaeva's discs issued in the USSR, USA, Japan, GDR, FRG, and Czechoslovakia enjoy a well-deserved popularity.Tracklist:
Eliso Virsaladze was born in Tbilisi. She finished the Paliashvili Central Music School and then the Tbilisi Conservatoire in A. Virsaladze class. Later E. Virsaladze polished her skill at the Moscow Conservatoire in post-graduate course under Professor Ja. Zak.
Eliso Virsaladze is a laureate of several international competitions: the 7th Youth and Students Festival in Vienna (1959), the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1962) and Schumann Competition in Zwickau (1966).
On May 7, 1986 at the New Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire there took place the first recital of pianist Nikolai Lugansky, a Central Music School pupil. Shortly before that the young musician marked his 14th birthday (he was born on April 26, 1972).
The large complex programme of the concert, technically perfect full of the youthful exuberance and inspiration, demonstrated the pianist's mature sense of style and deep insight into each works performed. His success enabled him, in the opinion of many listeners, to occupy an important place among the already well known young performers — E. Kissin, V. Repin and M. Vengerov.
