TEN is Paul Rose's tenth album to date, with ten new tracks released in 2010. This album is one hell of a mighty slice of rock 'n' roll pie from the Newcastle born master, and a truly international team effort of titanic proportions. As well as being a landmark in the outstandingly talented independent artists remarkable career. With drums recorded in Miami, guitars, bass and vocals recorded in Scotland and England, and bound together by Paul's now trademark composition and production style. TEN features some great instrumental rock out tunes, like the powerhouse song "Past Myself" as well as a reworking of Paul's Slideaway classic "Throw Me A Line". Other tracks featured are "Walker Road" and "Straight Ahead" which were originally demoed on a portastudio way back in the pre "Homework" days. Although a wild version of Straight Ahead appeared on "Live At The Broken Doll" this is the first time either of these tracks have been properly recorded and produced for official release. Also a brand new version of "Ned's Guitar" from the Magic City album is included, only this time with a full band arrangement that brings a beautiful warmth and new life to this already established PR classic.
TEN is most certainly a milestone for Paul, and could even be seen as a celebration of the landmark achievement of now having independently released TEN solo albums. The bulk of the work has once again been done by Paul himself, but the album also features 3 of Miami's finest session drummers George Martinez, Dave Scott & Gerry Tickler. With a truly dynamite live version of the Hendrix classic "Little Wing" featuring Ted McKenna on drums & Kenny Huchison on bass. Here the album briefly harks back to the "Half Alive" era, tantalizingly wetting the appetite as to what may be in store for both Paul and fans alike with such an incredible team of musicians around him. Percussion was added by "Bay Whitley" drummer Paul Kane. Ten, again, is an unmissable piece of work from the brilliant Paul Rose, that you just have to keep listening to again and again.
