Robert Schroeder - Velocity (2017)

The German Electronics artist Robert Schroeder (discovered 1978 by EM pioneer Klaus Schulze) has produced numerous excellent solo CDs as well as his success album Double Fantasy / Universal Ave., which reached the US Charts in the end of the 80s. The music of Robert Schroeder is various, but always soulful. He combines spherical synthesizer sounds with modern rhythm-mical contrasts, often supplemented by spacey guitars and sometimes also by piano, cello or voices. Schroeder's music spectrum includes Electronic, Ambient, Chill-Out, Lounge, Adventure and Electronic Music in the widest sense is the musical style of this artist who has his roots in the music of Klaus Schulze, Can and Pink Floyd.

Surprising effects, sharp contrasts, spherical excursions, extraordinary sequencer arrangements, new sound effects, dreamy, playful, exciting and very varying … these are the ingredients of the new CD Ambient Occlusion, which apparently of course show Robert's facilities and sometimes you will be captured by the atmospheres of the early 80s. Schroeder's music is incomparable and unique. It combines very spherical and surrealistic elements with beautiful concrete catchy melodies.

EM pioneer Klaus Schulze said once to the music of Robert: "If there is any contemporary romantic music, then it is this from Robert Schroeder." Robert regards this claim as quite confirmed on his new album Ambient Occlusion.

On March 18, 2017 Robert Schroeder receives the "Schallwelle Award" in Bochum (Germany) for his life work. Just in time for the award ceremony Robert's 36th solo album VELOCITY will be released on Spheric Music.

VELOCITY promises an EM with new and fresh impressions. VELOCITY is very "electronic", experimental and quite varied. The 7 instrumental tracks of the 64-minute album are sequenced and, as usual with Schroeder, equipped with exciting atmospheres and magnificent synthesizer solos. Well-balanced first-class Electronic Music with lots of variety, surprising atmospheres, traditional and modern electronic sounds.
