Steve Jolliffe has been a member of the German band Tangerine Dream, working with them and providing vocals for their 1978 album Cyclone, also notably one of the few Tangerine Dream albums to feature singing. His was also a member of the band briefly in 1969 with Klaus Schulze before Conrad Schnitzler joined to record Tangerine Dream's debut album "Electronic Meditation".
Beyond The Dream (1984). Beyond the Dream is an uneven release from Steve Jolliffe. He seems to be going in three or four different directions at once. This disc has elements of jazz, rock & roll, new age instrumental, electronic space music, and avant-garde experimental dissonance. When Jolliffe loses his focus, his material suffers. This is not a bad CD. It is just not a very good one.
Zanzi (1995). Zanzi is a special CD of the hybrid soundscapes of Steve Jolliffe. Using new age sensitivities and space music textures, Jolliffe walks a fine line that few have walked. He boldly embraces the new age and all that it encompasses. He deftly sprinkles space music timbres into the soundscapes. This is healing music from a practitioner of holistic shamanism. The music speaks to the heart and serenades the soul; it is a great disc.
