Formed in Chicago back in 1998, The Steepwater Band’s signature sound is a nod to early British blues, combined with a modern, raw and gutsy musical approach. Founding members Jeff Massey (Vocal, Guitar), Tod Bowers (Bass), and Joseph Winters (Drums) have a synergy that comes from years of playing together. In early 2012, the long-time trio was joined by Eric Saylors (Guitar, Backing Vocal) who brought an added depth to the live sound. The band has maintained a grueling schedule throughout the last 16 years, averaging about 140 shows per year. After touring and sharing the stage with acts such as Gov’t Mule, Buddy Guy, and Cheap Trick they signed to Sun Pedal Recordings to release Diamond Days: The Best of The Steepwater Band 2006-2014. The compilation will be released on 2/17/15 (and on vinyl in the spring) and features tracks spanning the band’s entire career including a re-recorded version of the fan favorite “Hard As Stone” and a new track called “Silver Lining.”

The Steepwater Band is excited to announce the release of Diamond Days: The Best of The Steepwater Band 2006-2014. The new album will be out on February 17 2015 via the band’s new label Sun Pedal Recordings (Warner Music Group). Back in October they asked fans to help make the tough decision of which songs would make the cut and now that all the responses have been collected, TSB is proud to bring you a true “best of.”

In addition to remastering songs that encompass the band’s 16 year long career, they recorded a new version of the fan favorite “Hard As Stone” as well as a brand new track called “Silver Lining.” The record will be available digitally and on CD with a vinyl release in April. All three are currently available for pre-order and all orders come with an instant download of “Hard As Stone (2015).”

“Silver Lining” and “Hard As Stone (2015)” will be the first studio recordings with the band’s newest member, guitarist Eric Saylors. Diamond Days will be a sneak peek of the group’s new sound before they release a brand new full-length album next year. The new full-length will be recorded at Crushtone Studios in Cleveland, OH with platinum producer Jim Wirt (Fiona Apple, Incubus)
