O grupo Afrodisíaco lançou nesta quinta (08), em todas as plataformas digitais, o álbum “Um Tributo ao Samba Reggae”. O disco traz 17 faixas e faz uma homenagem ao gênero para o qual o grupo hasteia a sua bandeira há mais de uma década.
Formado pelo cantor e compositor Pierre Onassis, responsável por alguns dos grandes hits da música baiana gravados por artistas como Cheiro de Amor (“Lero lero”, “Vai Sacudir, Vai Abalar”), Daniela Mercury (“Música de Rua”, “Capoeira”), Netinho (“Tô na Varanda”), Olodum (“Requebra”, “Rosa”, “Berimbau”…), entre outros, o Afrodisíaco foi criado em 2005, com a proposta de resgatar a cultura afro-pop tocada na Bahia e no mundo.
Pierre Onassis, que já passou por bandas como o Olodum e Bom Balanço, criou o Afrodisíaco, que investe no samba reggae com enormes influências da Timbalada, Olodum, AraKetu, Muzenza, Ilê Aiyê e traz consigo a valorização da música popular brasileira e suas vertentes. “O grupo surgiu da necessidade de se ter algo novo trazendo a verdade da música de outrora e suas canções emblemáticas, dando uma concepção contemporânea e alegre”, explica o cantor, que chegou a ganhar o prêmio Melhor Música do Carnaval da Bahia em 2006 com “Café com Pão”, uma das primeiras músicas do projeto, ao lado de “Já é”, “Beija-flor”, “Flor do Desejo”, e “Mama África”, que ganharam projeção internacional
