Ty Bates - On A Good Day (2017)

Ty Bates was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in the south side suburbs. Like most country singers that grew up in the “Bible Belt”, Ty started singing in church. Church stages led to other stages and it didn't take long before singing became his life. Ty knew he was serious about the music when he quit playing basketball to sing. When asked if he ever looked back, he says, "No never, pretty sure that even though making a living at this life has not been easy, it sure beats anything else I can imagine, there's nothing like the feeling you get hearing a crowd cheer for you after a song."

Quiet and shy off stage, he still amazes and shocks those who know him best when he steps on a stage. He says it's like being a whole different person when you hold a microphone and feel the stage lights. Though he may still have his moments anyone who knows him personally knows just how far he has come from that shy kid and entertaining people with his music is what he has been called to do. Ty's singing journey has taken him from church and school stages to a stage at Six Flags over Georgia” where he was the youngest cast member ever in their country show. Next stop was on to Myrtle Beach in the longest running show on the Grand Strand, “High Steppin' Country”, where after one season Ty became the featured performer in a 14 member cast. This show was home to Josh Turner, country music star, and Bailey Hanks, Broadway star, before they made big names for themselves. After "High Steppin Country" Ty moved on to Calvin Gilmore's, Carolina Opry, known as South Carolina’s number one entertainment show.

After being encouraged by long time Opry stars to go out on his own ,Ty left South Carolina and formed his own band. It's obvious he has been having the time of his life. Singing and playing songs that have just been in his head or on paper has brought Ty to a whole new place. He shares his heart and talks about the feeling of taking a story that's only been in his head and it inspiring a piece of music and song that people love to hear is a high he can't get enough of. Ty has played from Tulsa, Ok to Managua, Nicaragua, all over the Southeast and several places in between. He has opened for and shared the stage with awesome groups and artists like Jake Owen, Little Big Town, Lonestar, and many more. Being a HUGE sports fan, one thing he has had the chance to do that he loves is singing the National Anthem for his hometown Atlanta Braves and The Atlanta Thrashers.

Ty finally took the big leap of faith and moved to Nashville. Ty will tell you that a career in music is all he has ever wanted to do. He started writing songs before he even realized he could actually be singing them one day. His latest CD was just released, self titled and filled with originals. Hoping this will be the first of many Ty is pursuing his dream and he along with the countless people who have followed his journey have total faith he will be living that dream out one day. Everyone who knows Ty knows that God has blessed him with a special gift of singing and writing and now it is a gift to all of his fans to see him owning that gift and using it to be the artist he always felt and dreamed he would be.
