It is nice to be able to feature some current and innovative jazz on LeB, and today we present vocalist and pianist Ariel Pocock and her album Touchstone. A student at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, Pocock has received awards as both a vocalist and as a pianist. On the album, she clearly demonstrates her amazing talent on both instruments, and it sure helps to have a band with the likes of drummer Eric Harland, guitarist Julian Lage, bassist Larry Grenadier, and sax player Seamus Blake. Below you can listen to the opening track on the album, a very unique duo between Pocock and Harland.
