Six years to the date of his last LP, Thundercat will release his fifth studio album, Distracted, coming out April 3rd via Brainfeeder. The new album features contributions from A$AP Rocky, WILLOW, Tame Impala, Channel Tres, Lil Yachty and a previously unreleased collaboration with the dearly departed Mac Miller.

"The Outsider" marks a stylistic shift for DJ Shadow, blending alternative rock, hip hop, and electronic elements into a bold and experimental sound. Released in 2006, the album explores diverse influences, featuring collaborations with artists like David Banner, Phonte Coleman, and Q-Tip. Tracks such as '3 Freaks' and 'Dats My Part' lean into energetic hip hop, while 'Broken Levee Blues' and 'Erase You' showcase more atmospheric and introspective moods. The album stands out for its genre fusion, mixing raw beats, live instrumentation, and layered production into a distinctive sonic journey."

For Remixes JID020, the label has tapped a few of their favorite contemporary artists and producers to offer their own take on the music of Series 2. The album features a variety of dynamic personalities with remixes from London based artists Shabaka Hutchins and Theon Cross, New York tastemaker Melanie Charles, LA based producer Bei Ru, Brazil’s Dj Nyack, Detroit based producer Tall Black Guy, Bay Area producer Mophono and the LA based house duo LO & Diisko.
