Humanity is slowly recovering from being on the brink of extinction after the big fallout on "Annihilation of Mankind". More and more people forget how hard the reconstruction was and how much suffering had to be endured. The greed for profit and the striving for power causes mankind to exploit the planet to the maximum. The garbage piles up to the sky, tales of clean water can only be taken from the remaining books. But mankind strives for more and does not become saturated, although it lives in abundance. This behavior is not tolerable and the true Creator shows his face to cancel the project "humanity". The return of Shadow Of Intent with their highly anticipated fourth studio album “Elegy” will happen on the 14th January 2022. Written and recorded at guitar player and producer Chris Wiseman’s studio in Beacon, New York and featuring guest vocals from Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel and Chuck Billy of Testament, it also sees them bringing back keyboard virtuoso Francesco Ferrini (Fleshgod Apocalypse) who has contributed additional arrangements to give a full cinematic experience to each song as he did on their hugely successful “Melancholy“. As if that wasn’t enough, the band’s new drummer Bryce Butler (The Faceless, Abigail Williams) teamed up with engineers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio (Rivers of Nihil, Lorna Shore, August Burns Red) to record live drums. Christian Donaldson also returns for mixing and mastering as well as artist by Pär Olofsson for album artwork.

While all of humanity experiences the turmoil of pain, weakness, and betrayal, it is also deeply ingrained in our nature to keep these notions closely protected; to keep them secret. Often as we approach death, we feel an insatiable need to reveal these things to one another; to confess. “‘GRAVESIDE CONFESSIONS’ is all the things you want to say, but don’t; the things you carry with you a little too long, sometimes right up to your deathbed. This record explores the spaces that we typically push to the side, in an honest and vulnerable way,” explains founder and vocalist Scott Ian Lewis. “There’s a release, a sense of humor, and a catharsis to be found in going there, especially when you don’t go there normally.”
