My brother Dan and I (The Kessel Bros., 2nd generation members of The Wrecking Crew) met Kim around the early days of the Runaway's. He was a very cool guy with a quick wit and special vocabulary. We ended up doing several projects and recordings with Kim. We helped with his girl group the Orchids and the Vampires from Outer Space Album. During this period my brother and I were doing our own projects (involving The Ramones, Blondie, Rodney Bingenheimer, the Go Go's, and Co-Productions with Brian Wilson and the Honeys/American Spring) and working as second generation Wrecking Crew members on Phil Spector records. This included recordings with John Lennon, Cher, Harry Nilsson, Dion, Leonard Cohen with Bob Dylan, the Ramones, and Celine Dion amongst others.

UK two CD collection from the eccentric singer, songwriter, producer and pop Svengali. Wildfire assembles all three of the maverick visionary's late '60s Imperial albums: Born to Be Wild, Outrageous and Good Clean Fun, for the very first time on this double disc set. Includes such legendary recordings as 'Bubble Gum' (as covered by Sonic Youth), 'Wildfire', 'Animal Man'. Outrageous even graced the US Billboard 200 back in 1969. Featuring a host of musical luminaries, including members of Steppenwolf (the inimitable Mars Bonfire), the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band and Three Dog Night, and a special guest appearance from the 'Mayor of Sunset Strip' Rodney Bingenheimer.

A really weird conceptual mini-masterpiece with lots of period charm. Very few actual "songs" on this outing, most of the tracks are ironic / caustic commentaries on late 60s America. Listen in wonder as Fowley takes the piss out of rock 'n' roll stardom, middle America, the hippie counter-culture, and just about everything else. 100% post-modern a decade before anybody thought up the term.
