"All Comes Crashing" is the first sample of Metric's upcoming album, Formentera. "The lyrics and vocal delivery are really intimate and vulnerable," says lead singer Emily Haines. "It's essentially a love song that goes beyond romantic love to be more an expression of solidarity with whoever it is you would want to have beside you in the event of catastrophe." The music video for Metric's "All Comes Crashing" is the impressionistic vision of longtime collaborators Justin Broadbent & Emily Haines. Drawing inspiration from the visual aesthetic of Terence Malik and a pervasive sense of foreboding and claustrophobia, Broadbent uses shifting color and light effects to convey a spectrum of subtle emotions across a distorted temporal plane.

As much a creative collective as an indie rock band, Broken Social Scene is a Toronto-based ensemble whose flexible lineup has included some of the best and best-known musicians from the city's left-of-center music community. Emerging in 2001 with Feel Good Lost, the group, whose membership has been as small as two and as large as 15, has created an eclectic body of work that's explored many stylistic avenues, from film music and ambient minimalism to brightly orchestrated Baroque pop, with highlights arriving via the Juno Award-winning You Forgot It in People (2003) and Broken Social Scene (2005), and the chart-topping Hug of Thunder (2017). Artists and acts associated with the group include Feist, Metric, Do Make Say Think, Amy Millan, Stars, Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton, Jason Collett, K.C. Accidental, and Apostle of Hustle. Collection includes: Feel Good Lost (2001); You Forgot It in People (2002); Bee Hives (2004); Broken Social Scene (2005); Broken Social Scene Presents Kevin Drew - Spirit If… (2007); Broken Social Scene Presents Brendan Canning - Something For All Of Us (2008); Forgiveness Rock Record (2010).
