My Ears Are Bent is a wonderfully daring and highly inventive studio album by the innovative American keyboardist, accordionist, and multi-instrumentalist Ted Reichman, released in 2006 as one of the definitive early offerings on the avant-garde Skirl Records label. Inspired by the colorful writings of legendary New Yorker journalist Joseph Mitchell, this captivating project masterfully explores the outer edges of experimental jazz-rock, downtown improvisation, and ambient chamber folk structures. Reichman leads the trio while constructing a rich sonic foundation utilizing acoustic piano, electronics, distorted guitar passages, and a vintage pump organ.
