Heavy Chills - Heavy Chills (2017)

The present year of 2017 is approaching its announced end, but it does not, however, condition the birth of new and remarkable launches that continue to pile up. This time I'm talking about Heavy Chills' powerful debut album (and debut!): A young and auspicious Austin-based (Texas, USA) power-trio that promises to tease and battle for a top spot among the top best albums of the year. Released this past December 4 in digital format through its official Bandcamp page (but with the vinyl release planned and scheduled for next year 2018), this eponymous album boasts an intriguing, obscure, sovereign and electrifying Heavy Psych of Sabbathic features and dances that shadows us, hypnotizes and terrifies us with bold authority and celerity.

Her truly enigmatic, overbearing, caustic and provocative sound sets us on fire for excitement and compels us to venerate her throughout the seven themes that colonize this fascinating album. There is something authentically mystical about the distorted and hazy essence of Heavy Chills that torments, absorbs and dominates us with admirable intensity. In the composition of this hypnotic, imposing and Luciferic sound caravan that carries us and walks along the eclipsed and profane side of human existence is a majestic and patriarchal guitar of grandiose, intoxicating, winding and vigorous riffs that swell and then deconstruct and deplete into stunning solos , chaotic, acidic and penetrating, a low of dynamic pulsation led to marked, dense, reverberant and turned lines, an operant battery, unshakable and resonant of explosive, energetic, and creative invests, and still an echoing, untempered, sour and distant voice who leads, rides and spores with sovereignty all the rest instrumental.
