All the best movies need a sequel and Joe Stilgoe's popular tribute to the silver screen, Songs On Film, is no different.

This new studio recording takes listeners on a whirlwind tour of the movies with classics such as Arthur's Theme from the Dudley Moore favourite Arthur and You Never Can Tell from Pulp Fiction.

Joe opens the album with What's On? , an original track which showcases the lyrical and musical flair which prompted The Observer to describe him as a songwriter of uncommon ability.

The Monsters Inc favourite, If I Didn't Have You , sees Joe and special guest Curtis Stigers take on the roles of Mike and Sulley, originally sung by Billy Crystal and John Goodman.

Joe pays homage to his jazz roots with the Duke Ellington standard Caravan. Featured in the 2014 film Whiplash, which is set in the world of jazz drumming, this track showcases the talents of his rhythm section: Ben Reynolds (drums) and Tom Farmer (bass).

With songs taken from across the decades (a special 80s medley is a highlight) this is a must for film fans.

If you can't catch his show at the Edinburgh Fringe, here's the next best thing. Quick-witted and urbane, the singer-pianist is once again venturing into cinematic territory, his trio cutting a genial path through Cool, from West Side Story, and paying homage to Tarantino on You never Can Tell. If Stilgoe is too sunny a character to overdose on noir, he brings a cineaste's enthusiasm to the project. And he has no end of fun with Curtis Stigers on the Monsters,Inc ditty If I Didn't Have You. –Clive Davis The Sunday Times 31st July 2016

A hit with audiences and critics alike, Joe enjoys an enormously successful live career with his winning combination of musical virtuosity, breathtaking theatricality and witty audience interaction.

He is a regular fixture at the world's best jazz venues and festivals and, in addition to his solo work, he is constantly in demand as a musical collaborator to the cream of the crop, including renowned conductor John Wilson and jazz legend Claire Martin.

Joe will launch Songs On Film: The Sequel at London Wonderground on 14th July, before performing Songs On Film in a 25 night residency at the Assembly Checkpoint as part of the 2016 Edinburgh International Festival from 3rd to 27th August, ending the year with an extensive UK tour throughout September December.
