Michael Torregano Jr. - The M. Teezy Project (2016)

This project features 11 original compositions that blend jazz, funk, and r&b together in a true musical gumbo!

Being born into a family of musicians, Michael Torregano Jr., was destined for a life in music. Michael's quartet can be described as elegant, classy, and tasteful. While The M.Teezy Project can be described as wild, funky, groove heavy.
Michael started his studies at the age of 6 studying classical piano with Mr. Al Bemiss. At the age of 12 he would pick up the saxophone and would have his first introductions to jazz at the Louis Armstrong Summer camp.

By time Michael entered high school he was accepted into the Talented in Music program in 2000. The following year he would enter NOCCA (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts) where he would be educated and guided musically by New Orleans local legends, Clyde Kerr, Jr., Kent Jordan, and Alvin Batiste. During his time at NOCCA he was able to share classrooms and have several performance opportunities with now world renown artist such as Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews, Jonathan Batiste, and Khris Royal.

After graduating from NOCCA IN 2004, Michael would go on to study Music Education at Albany State University, in Albany, GA. He would graduate in 2008, and go ahead to teach middle school band and chorus students. After four years of classroom education, Michael decided to pursue his personal music goals and would spend the next years performing. Torregano's music would take him throughout the United States, Finland, Australia, and many of the Pacific and Caribbean Islands.

Now back in New Orleans, Michael Torregano Jr., is focused on releasing his debut album which is set to be released in late 2015.
