Morningside Fats - Lies, Damn Lies And The Blues (2017)

When a group of South East Queensland's best blues musicians gather in a barn to record live to tape you know you're in for something special. Add in the original songs of blues journeyman Paul Renton and the result is an album of dirty, honest blues.

Since their inception in 2008 Morningside Fats have strived to deliver raw, vintage blues music in the same manner of the great masters of the last century. Their fifth collection of all original songs from the pen of guitarist vocalist Paul Renton was recorded live to tape at the Barn Studios Plainland Australia. The resultant album seems to perfectly represent what all the previous recordings, tours, festival gigs, support spots and regular pub performances have been leading up to. It's warts and all and honest as the day is long. And the title "Lies, Damn Lies and the Blues" neatly summarises the goings on of the local blues community.
