Mike McCann formed Raven Tree with one objective in mind, to be authentic in everything they do. From writing songs to recording and performing, Mike McCann (Guitar/Vocals), Phoenix Johnson (Bass/Vocals) and Jed Prentice (Drums/Vocals) do not blindly follow industry standards. When it comes to Raven Tree’s music what you hear is real, no autotune or ProTool’d production is involved. Raven Tree albums are not collections of sound-alike singles, distinct tracks are combined to create albums which 100% creatively represent the band. Their sound has been described as a combination of Velvet Revolver and Van Halen with influences of Cream and Hendrix.

After a few lineup changes, Raven Tree jelled together when Phoenix came in to do dome sessions for the second record and has remained an intrical part of the band ever since. Jed came in as a fill in drummer and invited himself to join the band. The band’s first break into the music industry came from getting a start with Matt Davis and 98 Rock’s Noise In The Basement. All three members of Raven Tree have opened for a variety of national acts, including The Pretty Reckless, The Smithereens, Rhinobucket, Puddle of Mud, Alien Ant Farm and Sevendust.

From The National Sylvan Theatre in Washington, D.C. to the prestigious Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, Raven Tree have become one of the must-see bands in the Mid-Atlantic music scene and are currently booking.

Music
Raven Tree released their debut album in April 2015. Their second album Devil’s Red Mistress came out in Oct 2017. The title track, lead single and video were released in August 2017. A hard rock remake of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” was the band’s second single, which was released September 2017. Songwriter Mike McCann is a prolific writer.
