Recorded and broadcast in May 1982,
Horowitz's technique was begining to decline, though he retained all the fire of his playing.
Two of the encores, Scriabin Etude in D-sharp minor, op. 8, no. 12
and Rachmaninoff's Polka de VR have been omitted from this production.
Snippets of the Scriabin Etude are seen/heard in the Horowitz: A Reminiscence documentary from 1993.
This has been made available in the past on a VHS tape and as a Laserdisc.
This has never been reissued on DVD.
