ANSYS has released SpaceClaim 2017.2 SP0, is a fast and intuitive 3-D modeling software solution that enables any analyst or engineer to create, edit and repair geometry no matter where they are in the workflow.

What's new in this release:

In 2017.2 (R18.2), we’ve focused on improving the new functionality added in 2017.1 (R18.1) and previous releases. The new share topology methods work in many additional cases to support a wide variety of analysis types you may encounter. In addition to these new methods, new capabilities in the world of sheet metal and additive manufacturing help ensure that you can seamlessly transition your parts from the digital world into the physical world. And, as always, we’ve added support of new file formats so you can import, edit, and move to the next phase of the engineering process. All of these improvements seek to make modeling faster and easier than ever before, so that you can spend more time exploring ideas and less time modeling them.

New capabilities in SpaceClaim 2017.2 (18.2) include:

- Facets – Improved ability to deselect facets with the facet slider. This makes it much easier to choose the exact facets where you’d like to apply operations.
- SCDM - New share topology methods introduced in 2017.1 (18.1) have been improved to support solids and surfaces. Additionally, easy access to legacy shared topology has been returned to the product.
- Sheet Metal – Punch corner reliefs have been added to allow small corner reliefs where needed. In addition to this new option, additional export options for DXF have been added to aid in sheet metal manufacturing.
- Import/Export - Support for Creo4 and Catia V5-6R2017 have been added.
