Autodesk Advance Steel 2018.0.2 Update

Autodesk Inc., a world leader in 3D design software for entertainment, natural resources, manufacturing, engineering, construction, and civil infrastructure, has released an update to Advance Steel 2018, is detailing software helps accelerate design, steel detailing, steel fabrication, and steel construction-built on the familiar AutoCAD platform.

Advance Steel 2018.0.2 Hotfix Readme:

This Hotfix can be applied to Advance Steel 2018 running on all supported operating systems and languages.

Primary Issues Resolved by This Hotfix

As a result of detailed information from customers, a number of problems were identified and fixed. Updates have been made in the following commands and features:

- Fixed an issue that caused the manually removed automatic dimension points to reappear after applying clipping or changing the drawing scale.
- Fixed an issue that caused the callout title to not keep its correct position during update on callout clipped views after a manual position change.
- Fixed an issue that caused grids outside isolated viewport GA drawings to create very large green detail view frames.
- Fixed an issue that caused manual dimension lines created on grid dimension points accepted by the "Preferred for manual dimensions" snap point to jump or get removed in elevation views.
- Fixed an issue that caused ordinate and relative dimension values to be incorrectly placed on the dimension line.
- Fixed an issue that caused the side swap for dimension values to not work on absolute values.
- Fixed a callout or section cut view frame size issue that could occur when updating a detail more than twice.
- Solved an issue where model views that were not activated to work as detailing cameras would create a symbol at their location on general arrangement drawings.
- Fixed an issue that caused Advance Steel to ignore the "User" category set as current for necessary views, during drawing or detail update.
- Fixed an issue that could affect performance when updating connections in models that contain numerous connections.
- Fixed an issue that could cause saving invalid settings into the connection library, for some connection types.
- Fixed an issue that could make it impossible to change the sub-type for certain connections.
- Solved an issue that did not allow overwriting an existing user section when using the user section generation command – currently the same user section definition can be generated consecutively, whether or not the definition shape is changed.
- Solved an issue that caused the exact contours to not be created correctly when using the user section generation command.
- Improved the Advance Steel behavior when opening very old models.
- Fixed a multi-user related crash that occurred when connecting to a master model containing levels.
- Fixed an issue that caused records from the detailing databases to be deleted when using the Compact & Purge command in the Drawing Style Manager.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Management Tools application and the BOM Viewer to crash on Windows operating systems with installed Advance Steel language packs that use special character encoding.
- Fixed an issue that made the use of the Advance Steel copy and paste commands impossible, after opening certain models.
- Fixed an issue that could affect performance when deleting and transferring connections, for models that contain numerous connections.
- Fixed an issue that caused the model check "Fix all errors" command to remove all the beam and plate bevel cuts.
- Fixed an issue that made it impossible to copy user defined template connection instances with Advance Steel copy tools.
- Fixed an issues that caused the Audit command to delete structural nodes.
- Fixed an issue that caused the SMLX export to not write all the SAT file references for all identical parts.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent shortens to extend user sections with inner contours.
- Fixed an issue that caused the weld symbol to incorrectly display custom line types.
- Fixed an issue that caused section cuts and end plate views to get the same view number.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the percentage wild card symbol to be used for editing input elements inside the Connection library settings.
- Fixed an issue that caused an incorrect cut and callout naming sequence when the "Cut view names always fill the gaps" default was enabled.
- Fixed an issue that caused the removal of single and main part marks on the initially checked out part of an assembly, when performing multi-user check-out.

Bonus: Dynamo Extension for Advance Steel 2018

The Dynamo Extension for Advance Steel adds the functionalities of Dynamo to Advance Steel, in order to quickly generate complex structures using Advance Steel beams and plates.
