MSC Software Corp. has announced the 2014.1 release of Nastran, the premier and trusted CAE solution for aerospace, automotive, defense, and manufacturing industries worldwide. This release includes new features and enhancements in Contact, Fatigue, High Performance Computing, Acoustics, Aeroelasticity, and Explicit Nonlinear SOL 700. This release will also change the default mode in MSC Nastran to i8, or 64bit integers, instead of the previous default of i4, or 32bit integers.
Descriptions of the new and updated features including:
- Linear Analysis: Rayleigh Damping for Rotordynamics, HARDER SHEAR Element
- Numerical Methods and High Performance Computing: Parallel CASI Solver
- Optimization: Weight as a Function of Material and Property ID
- Miscellaneous: Poro-Elastic Material (PEM) Performance Improvement
