Tech giant Microsoft has announced the release of Visual Studio 2017 (version 15.1.26403.03). This release focuses on increasing the productivity and making it easier to create applications for mobile and cloud. A lightweight and modular installation is also a highlight feature.

In this release, Microsoft has focused on four areas — productivity and performance, mobile, cloud, and devops. In its release notes, Microsoft said that 2017 release brings a lightweight and modular installation experience. It allows the developers to only get the components they need.
Microsoft also claims that Visual Studio 2017 starts up to 3 times faster as compared to Visual Studio 2015. This release is designed to support teams in a better manner, it comes with tools to provide for developing NET Core 1.0 and 1.1 apps, microservices, and Docker containers.
Xamarin integration in Visual Studio 2017 has been made better with a Xamarin Forms previewer and improved IntelliSense for Xamarin Forms XAML.
An improved Git integration will be liked by devops. Visual Studio now makes use of the Git executables. Overall, more Git functionality is available directly within the DE.
Talking about the supported platforms, Visual Studio 2017 will run on Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (version 1507 or newer), Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials Standard and Datacenter, and Windows Server 2016 Standard and Datacenter.

After upgrading the installer to 15.1 (version 1.9.30330.1) the incoding in russian product descritpions is broken (see the attached screenshot). The encoding is broken in Release but not in Preview procucts products.

When attempting to open a project from a visualstudio.com repo does not work. I have VS 2017 installed, but get an error message stating "Visual Studio Web Request handler could not be found". This is a fresh install of VS2017 community.
UPDATE 2017-04-07: I am able to open the solution after closing the "Test Explorer" window.
UPDATE 2017-04-06: The latest VS2017 update DOES NOT FIX the problem I experience. So either this is not a duplicate, or the fix does not work properly.
1. Start VS 2017 Enterprise. 2. Open Solution containing 64 Projects. 3. VS 2017 shows some activity in the status bar but then, 4. VS 2017 Hangs (not responding) 5. Wait for over 10 minutes 6. Force Close VS 2017.
Notes: I have installed ReSharper 2016.3.2. Solution is located in a Workspace originally created in VS 2015. Solution opens properly in VS 2015, with the same version of ReSharper. Machine has 24 GB of RAM, 13GB+ is available at the time of opening the Solution.
