The software developer TIA Portal is pleased to announce the availability of Simatic S7-PLCSIM V17. Simulation for your PLC projects and processes before the commissioning would really help you to discover more code bugs and errors before you download the program into your PLC.

Overview of what's new
S7‑PLCSIM V17 introduces the following new or updated functionality:

Support of the latest hardware and firmware including the following:
- S7‑1504D TF and S7‑1507D TF Drive controllers
- S7‑1500R/H Redundant controllers
- S7-1518 T/TF
- SIMATIC S7 SIPLUS CPUs
- SIMATIC ET 200pro
- Improved performance
- Removal of device configuration view: Device view is available in the TIA Portal.

SIMATIC S7-PLCSIM simulates a controller for functional testing of user blocks and programs for S7-1200, S7-1500, and ET-200SP CPUs and for PLCSIM V5.X and higher can handle S7-300 and S7-400 on the programming device/PC. Online access and test functions of the programming tools can be carried out in exactly the same manner as with a real controller. This allows the entire program test to be carried out on-site in the development office.The facilty to simulate the communication via MPI, PROFIBUS DP and TCP/IP ensures a high degree of flexibility in the simulation.

PLCSIM is capable of working with multi-instances from Version 5.4 SP3. It is possible to start several PLCSIM and test several controllers simultaneously. After the program download the instance adopts the station’s name.

The PLCSIM cannot run without running of STEP 7 software program unlike the PLCSIM Advanced it’s independent. In STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V17 for all product groups there is a common interface for S7-PLCSIM so that it is easier to start S7-PLCSIM in STEP 7 (TIA Portal).

The TIA Portal V17 can be directly installed in the languages German, English and Chinese.
