Since moving to the countryside, Britain’s most beloved camp comedian Julian Clary has become passionate about nature. In a brand new adventure, he goes in search of Britain’s most fanatical wildlife lovers, affectionately referred to as his ‘Nature Nuts’.

Julian travels all over the UK for the three-part series, discovering an extraordinary range of nature fans obsessed by the creatures in their backyards and beyond. Julian and his expert film crew, boasting some of the UK’s most talented natural history cameramen and women, play fairy godmother to our Nature Nuts by capturing sight of their favourite creatures in ways they’ve never seen before.

With some of the best new technology including starlight, high speed, mini aerial and underwater cameras, the Nature Nuts are given once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch their favourite animals in their natural habitat.

More info

Part 1: Walsall
Julian meets a woman who takes care of thousands of injured hedgehogs and helps her check up on a former patient. He also uses cameras that can see by moonlight to help a woman who streams footage from her garden on the internet to observe an elusive family of badgers, and takes two `otter spotters' to visit a unique sanctuary.

Part 2: Farne Islands
The comedian meets wildlife devotees around Britain, and enlists the help of a nature documentary crew to help them record footage of their favourite animals. The first leg of Julian's wildlife journey takes him to the Farne Islands, where he swims with Britain's largest carnivorous mammal. He then moves on to Northwich, Cheshire, where he helps a birdwatcher capture baby tawny owls on film. In Herne Bay, he goes in search of dormice and tries to work out what kind of wildlife live in his own home and garden.

Part 3: Thixendale
Julian meets an artist in Yorkshire who uses photographs of animals as guidelines for his wildlife paintings, and helps him to capture a kestrel on film. He also travels to the Scottish highlands and tries to lure pine martens by leaving out biscuits for them, and boards a canoe to help a man in Perth who is hoping to catch sight of a baby beaver.
