Learning that the unscrupulous French financier (Laurent Lafitte) behind the scheme has just purchased a $10million diamond for his bride to be, the divorced duo grudgingly agree to set aside their differences, and hatch a plot to gate-crash the wedding and steal the rock. Roped in to assist in the heist are the couple's former neighbours Timothy Spall and Celia Imrie who are also rooting for their reconciliation. The foursome form an unlikely band of lawbreakers in this classic comedy caper set against the sun drenched backdrop of the Cote d'Azur.

Sur le point de prendre sa retraite, l'Anglais Richard Jones découvre que le jeune "trader" français Vincent Kruger a mis sa société en faillite. Accompagné de Kate, son ex-femme, il part à la poursuite de l'homme d'affaires véreux à Paris. S'étant faits cavalièrement mettre à la porte du bureau de ce dernier, Richard et Kate aperçoivent au cou de Manon Fontaine, fiancée de Kruger, un fabuleux diamant. Tel qu'annoncé dans la presse populaire, les deux jeunes gens sont sur le point de se marier sur la Côte d'Azur. Afin de récupérer le montant de leur pension et de celle des employés, Richard et Kate se mettent en tête de voler le précieux pendentif, d'une valeur de dix millions de dollars…
