Xilinx, Inc., the leader in adaptive and intelligent computing, is pleased to announce the availability of PetaLinux Tools 2023.2 (10121855) is an embedded Linux Software Development Kit (SDK) targeting FPGA-based System-on-Chip designs.

Overview New Features in 2023.2

1. NFS root support for MB.
2. Automated boot flow when user select any available memory in design.
3. Segmented boot flow template support in PetaLinux tools.
4. Removed OS support for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and
- 20.04.1 LTS versions.
- Added OS support for ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS,
- 22.04.2 LTS version.
- Added OS support for OPEN SUSE Leap 15.4 and
- Add OS support for AlmaLinux 9.1 version.
5. Added Config option to specify Inherit conf file used to generate the yocto machine conf file using gen-machine-conf.
6. Added Config option to specify additional MACHINEOVERRIDES to generate the machine.
7. Password recovery mechanism in PetaLinux without rebuilding.
8. Migrated to use the New FPGA manager template classes from PetaLinux.
9. New BSPs added in 2023.2.
10. Dropped BSPs.
11. Default boot out of HBM for vhk158 prod BSP.

The PetaLinux Tools offers everything necessary to customize, build and deploy Embedded Linux solutions on Xilinx processing systems. Tailored to accelerate design productivity, the solution works with the Xilinx hardware design tools to ease the development of Linux systems for Versal, Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC, Zynq-7000 SoCs, and MicroBlaze. With these tools developers can customize the boot loader, Linux kernel, or Linux applications. They can add new kernels, device drivers, applications, libraries, and boot and test software stacks on the included full system simulator (QEMU) or on physical hardware via network or JTAG.
Note: Vitis unified software platform is the integrated design environment (IDE) for creating embeddedapplications on Xilinx microprocessors. PetaLinux SDK is a Xilinx development tool that contains everything necessary to build, develop, test, anddeploy embedded Linux systems.
