Swedish jazz phenomon Nils Berg Cinemasocpe is back with their sixth album - The music on this album is based on field recordings of musicians, singers and sounds from the streets and countryside of Punjab, India - Nils Berg Cinemacope is a group of highly acclaimed Swedish jazz musicians that has toured all continents and collaborated with musicians and dancers in Italy, Cuba, Japan and more.

Ottla is a bird that not only sings beautifully but also vigorously flaps and squawks. Also known as a band that Bert Dockx formed to play together once to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Jazz Lab concert series. Fortunately, Dockx and the musicians he gathered for that anniversary sextet quickly found much enthusiasm and more opportunities to play together. In 2019, what initially seemed like a fleeting experiment transformed into composing, rehearsing, recording an album, and playing more. Ottla's fluttering spirit appeared to have cooled down, at least for a while.

After extensive touring throughout 2022 we received a call to play at London Jazz Festival at Signature Brew in Haggerston. Since the venue is predominately an indie/rock venue we decided to stay away from repertoire and use the opportunity to channel the environment by allowing maximum spontaneity, working in the spacce with the audience and each other, emphasizing the uniqueness of each moment by surrendering to collective spontaneous composition. This album represents an experiment, an open laboratory where audience and musicians are invited to take a risk and embrace a balancing act where no one knows what awaits around the next corner. Initiated by the experimental US guitarist and lifelong Rypdal fan Henry Kaiser, we put together a Rune Grammofon allstar band including keyboardist and long time Rypdal side-kick Ståle Storløkken (Elephant9, Supersilent), bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (Scorch Trio, The Thing), drummer Gard Nilssen (Bushman´s Revenge), guitarists Even Helte Hermansen (Bushman´s Revenge) and Hedvig Mollestad Thomassen, Finnish guitarist Raoul Björkenheim (Scorch Trio) and Swedish guitarist Reine Fiske (Dungen).

Saxophonist Yann Jankielewicz, Tony Allen's last musical director, presents Keep It Simple, his first solo album. A cross between New-York jazz and rock-leaning Afrobeat. He is accompanied by two iconic musicians from the New York scene. Jason Lindner is on keyboards (David Bowie, Meshell, Avishai Cohen), and possesses the ability to find new, powerful sounds, with direct, unadorned playing. One of Finland's most successful jazz composer/producers Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen (of Dalindeo and Ricky-Tick Big Band fame) teams up with Mopo drummer Eeti Nieminen for a disc full of chillout jams.

With Ein Sof — which translates to 'there is no end' — Itzhak Ventura has created a mysterious, slowly-unfolding album pairing his fluttering ney with an ambient-electronic soundbath from producer/musician Yuvi “Rejoicer” Havkin. The record, out on Tel Aviv’s iconic Raw Tapes, pushes the boundaries of the label’s already-experimental, genre-blurring roster. Ventura and Havkin converged in the studio in February, 2023, and immediately found their spark. The 10 tracks of Ein Sof pay homage to the classical tradition of the ney while adding electronic flourishes that help these recordings transcend anything that’s come before. Ventura created this album to speak to the soul: “I want people to feel the connection of heart and spirit. The ney itself is a reed cut from its source; this sound reflects how we are also separated from the divine. And these songs bring us closer to unity.”
