    مؤلف هذه الرواية المختلفة هو جنكيز أيتماتوف الطفل الذي نشأ يتيم الأب، بعدما اعتبر النظام الستاليني والده "عدواً للشعب" وأعدمه رمياً بالرصاص في العام 1938. وبعد سنوات عاد جنكيز الذي لم يتجاوز السنوات العشر إلى قرغيزيا مع والدته التي اعتبرت زوجة عدوّ الشعب.. وأيّ مصير كان أسوأ من ذلك في ثلاثينيات القرن الماضي ومن هنا بدأت الحكايات تنمو في ذهن جنكيز الكاتب المبدع ومن هنا جاءت روايته الأرض الأم..
