    Gunnar Gunnarsson (1889-1975) var en islandsk forfatter, digter og skuespilforfatter, der hovedsageligt skrev på dansk. Han er mest kendt for romanerne "Borgslægtens historie", "Kirken på bjerget" og "Svartfugl". Han var nomineret til Nobelprisen seks gange i løbet af sit liv, men han modtog den aldrig. Alligevel fremstår Gunnar Gunnarsson som en af Islands største forfattere nogensinde.
