Important points related to HVAC System Design Coordination with other design disciplines

What you'll learn
Understanding the importance of HVAC system design coordination
Knowing actual practical issues while designing HVAC system
Strengthen the knowledge of HVAC designer while understanding other design disciplines aspects
Learning that HVAC designer does not exist in a vacuum. Your work affects, and is affected by, every system and assembly in the building.
Requirements
BSc of mechanical engineering / Undergraduate
Description
Course is related to the HVAC system design and the basic issues which the HVAC designers should take care while developing the HVAC design.Course shall start with introduction about the importance of design coordination, then will move to each design discipline explaining the main related issue which have to be coordinated with the HVAC design starting from the pre-design phase. Some important points shall be discussed, an example is given below:No one will be particularly impressed with the accuracy of your calculations if the owner is now paying a small fortune for a structural change because you failed to properly coordinate your duct routing. The equipment in your design requires electricity, water and drainage, structural support, and sound or vibration isolation. An HVAC designer does not exist in a vacuum. Your work affects, and is affected by, every system and assembly in the building. Some of important definitions shall be discussed like, Owner’s project requirements (OPR) and Basis Of Design (BOD) and Role of HVAC Designer in it.Owner’s project requirements (OPR)is a document that details the functional requirements of a project and the expectations of how it will be used and operated. Basis Of Design (BOD)a document that records the concepts, calculations, decisions, and product selections used to meet the owner’s project requirements and to satisfy applicable regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines; the document includes both narrative descriptions and lists of individual items that support the design process.
