Description
I am a blessed foster momma of six kids. One of our children is biological but the rest have all been added to our family through CPS. We have successfully adopted two, and are in the final stages of one, and then the last two is still an uphill battle. I have had over seven years of dealing in the trenches navigating the confusing world of fostering, adopting, and making your child feel like he belongs through the entire process. This course was designed to be used as a quick guide to offer tips on how to determine and offer a few tips in three areas. The first, if fostering is even right for you. Secondly, if you are already a foster parent, is it right for your family to move to adoption. Finally, how to reveal to your child that they have been adopted without causing an emotional disaster. I will also give a few tips if you have already told your child and it hasn't gone as well as you had hoped.  This is sometimes a hard road to navigate, and although I don't have all the answers because every child is different, I want to share the things I have found to be the best practice in helping to make a child feel loved and special when telling them difficult news.

Who this course is for:
- People contemplating adoption, people who have already adopted.
