Description
Teaching a dyslexic child to read is not easy, but there are really not many secrets on how this can be one. The secret is to identify the areas of difficulty and work with them one at a time until the child is fluent in that skill. Dyslexia intervention methods work, HOWEVER, they are often too prescriptive and rigid. They need to be so that people can learn them, but that does not mean that children benefit from a rigid sequence that may be very distant to what they need to develop. That is why this is a course on realistic dyslexia intervention. You will know what your child struggles with and, if not, check the list of contents and something will look familiar. Then learn that technique and apply it consistently until the skill is not a problem anymore. In this course you will learn tried and tested techniques to: - Develop phonics knowledge- Improve reading fluency - Read in a way that promotes reading comprehension. - An additional benefit: an original and colour-coded chart to learn and teach the most important sound-spelling links in English.- You will also find: tens of downloadable resources to help you with your tuition (multisensory practice for the different phonemes, sound charts, high-frequency words, phonological awareness tasks…). I have been doing literacy intervention for more than 10 years now. In this course, I am sharing what I actually use with my students on a daily basis. I know it works and I am delighted to know that more children will benefit from it thanks to this course.
