Description
Dietary practices in Ayurveda are one of three pillars that support wellbeing. Knowledge about these practices and their logic are often confused with traditional practices, which may or may not have an Ayurvedic origin. Further, the food classification system in Ayurveda is vastly different and more holistic than the biochemical classification followed in contemporary dietetics practices. Hence, a comprehensive course was conceptualized to provide knowledge-seekers with authentic information, based on Ayurvedashastras. This basic course was inspired by our experience with online courses for nutritionists and dieticians. After training over 1500+ in our introductory course, we felt a basic course would be useful to those with little to no knowledge of Ayurveda. Through select concepts, we provide an understanding of how the Ayurvedic framework can be utilized to personalize diets and daily routines. The format has been deliberately curated to ensure that participants with no Sanskrit background are easily able to assimilate and apply the knowledge provided in the course. In addition, we also discuss the practices of Dinacharya and Ritucharya, which are essential for nurturing everyday well-being. We hope this sparks an interest in learners to delve deeper into Ayurveda, India's ancient science of medicine, encouraging further exploration and study.
