Hans Ørberg's Lingua Latina per se Illustrata is the worldwide reference for learning Latin via the "Natural Method". The reader first learns grammar and then vocabulary through contextual reading and an innovative system of marginal notes. It is to date the only manual giving apprentices the possibility of learning without translation, but allowing them to think and reflect in this language. It is also the most popular book for teachers, both at the high school and university level, who want to establish more conversations in their classrooms.

Familia Romana (Pars I from the Lingua Latina series) contains 35 chapters and describes the life of a Roman family in the second century and culminates with readings by classical poets and Ars Grammatica by Donatus, the standard text of the school Latin for a millennium. Each chapter is divided into two or three lectiones (lessons) of a few pages all followed by a section of grammar, Gramatica Latina and three exercises or Pensa. Hans Oerberg's impeccable Latinity, humorous stories and illustrations by Peer Lauritzen make this book a classic. The book includes a table of declensions, a Roman calendar and an index of words, index vocabulorum.

The Lingua Latina series incorporates the following features:

The most comprehensive treatment of Latin grammar available in an elementary textbook.
A vocabulary of nearly 1,800 words, reinforced by constant repetition and creatively worded, greatly expands the potential for later sight reading.
A full range of auxiliary volumes, exercises and readers both in print and online.
