Frédéric Beltran was born in Levallois-Perret, in 1963. Active in several creative fields, Beltran works as a comics artist, but also as a musician. He started out playing guitar in the band Stylbop in 1981. He began studies at several art schools, but nothing worked out. In 1985, he made his first comic in cooperation with a teacher from the art school, but this story remained unpublished. His band Stylbop separated, and in 1988, Beltan saw his first comic album published: 'Le Ventre du Minotaure'. In the early 1990s, he contributed to the collective album 'Fipons' at Les Humanoïdes Associés and pursued a subsequent career in architecture, illustration and theatre stage design. Beltran joined the press agency Les Magnants and conceived the core part of Kimbo, a comics magazine inspired by the television series of the same name.
