After delving into the piano works of Francesco Pennisi, Stefano Cascioli tackles the exploration of the work of Hungarian composer Ferenc Farkas. He is now engaged for Stradivarius with Farkas and Italy - Baroque Inspirations, the first volume of the series with the publication of the complete works for piano.

The Hungarian composer Ferenc Farkas had particularly close ties to Italy. However, this was not only crucial for his career, but also influenced the development of Hungarian music history through his students, even indirectly leaving traces in European music.

Farkas was head of the composition department of the Budapest Academy of Music from 1949 to 1975, and such outstanding composers as György Ligeti, György Kurtág, Emil Petrovics, Sándor Szokolay, Miklós Kocsár, Zoltán Jeney, Zsolt Durkó and Attila Bozay emerged from his class. His legendary teaching played an important role in turning the interest of Hungarian composers to Latin culture and loosening the centuries-long German influence.

Farkas followed Respighi's example both in his approach and in his reference to the musical past, but stylistically he was closer to Alfredo Casella and Gian Francesco Malipiero. His songs and chamber works were soon performed with success in the Italian capital, where on March 15, 1930, the Teatro Indipententi performed the comedy Non ci sono più donne by Amelia Della Pergola (stage name Diotima) with his music.
