The extraordinarily dry summer is finally giving way to a more traditionally, soggy autumn and thoughts are turning to the celebrations of Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night, before the joyous riot of consumption at Christmas and the New Year. We invite you to join in the festivities, all around the UK, but particularly in London’s
Christmas fun, and bring you some ideas of stylish gifts - especially from Scotland - for your favourite people. For many, however, this is the time to look ahead to travels in 2019 and we hope we can inspire with this issue’s features on serene Cambridge, fashionable Victorian spa towns and the West Country delights of Bristol, Somerset and Plymouth. This December sees the release of Disney’s sequel ‘Mary Poppins Returns’, starring Emily Blunt, coinciding with re-issues of the original books and a revival of the enduring West End musical.
