The year 2016 witnessed further consolidation of the new approach to India’s foreign policy, referred as The Modi Doctrine. The proactive engagement with the world than ever seen before in Indian diplomacy has been the hallmark of the year.

Since May 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj have visited more than 150 countries, aggressively pursuing India’s interests to ensure its rightful place in the comity of nations.

It couldn’t have been timed better – Commonwealth Secretary-General Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC, speaks to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Diplomatist, touching upon trade, gender equality, climate change, good governance, and empowering young people.
