Winners all
FIRST OF ALL, I’d like to congratulate the winners of this year’s Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Food & Beverage Industry in China. Every day, we get to write about so many new and exciting products from around the world, and most of them do deserve an accolade. So to stand out and be selected by the experts is quite an honor in this industry. Read about the winning products in the functional ingredients category on p14.
Further on health and nutrition, we interview the executive director of Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega 3s (GOED), Adam Ismail. GOED is an association consisting of some 200 members, and it is participating in Vitafoods Asia from 2-3 September at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.
Also in Vitafoods Asia, the manager for Policy and Government Affairs with EAS Strategies-Asia Pacific (Singapore), Maes Esperanza Frio Alconcel is scheduled to speak on the ASEAN Rules of Origin (ROO). If you miss her topic, you can turn to preview on p44 for the basics of ROO.
There are more exclusive interviews and features in this issue. For boardroom connection, our correspondent in Viet Nam goes one-on-one with Sapporo’s general director Hirofumi Kishi.
In processing, we speak to Michael Poonpipat on the latest wastewater treatment solutions from Veolia, and to Galis Garnia, owner of a small noodle-making company in Bandung, Indonesia.
Other interesting topics include the growing craft beer market in Cambodia and the timeless appeal of Prosecco.
