The desire to be recognised and applauded by peers is the best incentive to work harder and aspire for excellence. And when that recognition comes from industry stalwarts who one looks up to, its significance cannot be underlined enough.
This November, the grand jury of the 8th Hotelier India Awards sifted through 700-plus nominations carefully collated from 1,003 forms that we received from across the country (around 300 were discarded as it were either filled incorrectly or had insufficient information). After lots of discussion and deliberation, the most deserving people from India’s hospitality industry will be revealed during the grand Hotelier India Awards on 13th December, in the presence of the crème de la crème gathering from the industry, comprising top hoteliers, business leaders, suppliers, consultants, etc.
The other big talk of the country, this November, was demonetisation. Every industry has felt its effect in some way or the other. While it is still early days to precisely estimate its effect on the hospitality, restaurant and travel industry, we asked people from the business their opinions on how the demonetisation will affect them. Most seem cautiously optimistic.
We also realise that hoteliers are always on the lookout for suppliers who can offer them better value for their investment, so they can balance guest satisfaction while ensuring business profitability. Our 'Top Suppliers Special' is a ready reckoner of leading providers of products and services who can provide the best solutions for your properties – complete with their company profile, specialisations, and contact details. Now isn’t this a great opportunity to reach out to suppliers you might have been hitherto unconnected with and enter into a strategic relationship with?
This is just a primer; there is a lot more that makes this an interesting and information-packed December issue.
