Antonin Dvorak - The Complete Symphonies

For decades, there were only three complete collections of Dvorák's symphonies: this one; Rowicki's with the same orchestra; and Kubelik's with the Berlin Philharmonic. Kertész offers the most rustic, gutsy interpretations of all. Famous for his dislike of rehearsals, he allows the London Symphony to make a much rougher sound than his colleagues tolerate, and though not the last word in polish, the results have a spontaneous charm that's pretty hard to resist. More to the point, Dvorák's early symphonies (Nos. 1 to 5) remain sadly neglected, and each one of them is full of gorgeous tunes cloaked in mellifluous orchestration. – David Hurwitz (Amazon)

First of all I have to apologize for the big mess I made of my previous post of this wonderful work. I really hope everything will be much better now. I decided to repost Dvorak's symphonies in a HQ MP3 rate as a "penitence" for my mistake. However this will remain an exception to the rule. As I explained before I think this is the best compromise: I believe in free access to art but I don't like piracy. If I want high quality I don't go after APE or FLAC or whatever... I go for the CD and I'm happy to know that some of the money I spend goes to the people responsible for that quality. If I just need to sample a new interpretation of a concerto or I miss the money to buy a new release, a good MP3 is more than enough, for the moment. In addition, most of the time 192Kbps allows me to compress one CD into a "less than 100Mb" file which is very welcomed by people who don't own a broadband connection and a RS premium account. Finally a word about the content of the RARs. I decided to split the CDs keeping the symphonies together, while in the original they are sometime split between CDs; and I have gathered the Extra track in 2 separate and different RAR. You can always reconstitute the CD's by looking at the .
