Cafeine will appeal to fans of European Prog with influences from French 70's Symphonic Prog.
Recorded in 2000, their second album very representative of the spirit of revival in the French Progressive scene. Here, one rediscovers long instrumental passages, a wealth of classical orchestrations, along with influences ranging from rock to folk, and fusion to baroque. As a whole, it is enveloped in an ensemble of sublime resonance, thanks to the production being one of rare power and quality among the masses. The "Nouveaux Mondes" (Meaning "New Worlds") that this talented French group explores today are those to conquer. The compositions (all illustrated in a luxurious libretto) relate to various aspects: air to matter, history or love, and even Man conquering space. Cafeine intelligently pursued surrounding itself with several personalities in the French Progressive scene, such as Christian Decamps (Ange) who played Don Juan in the theatrical way that he is recognized. One equally finds Pierre Yves Theurillat (Galaad), Cyril Grimaud (Hauteville), Philippe Ladousse and Julie Vander. As for the duo from Minimum Vital, Sonia Nedelec and Jean-Baptiste Ferracci, they are featured in a magnificent triptych finale lasting longer than ten minutes titled "Cathedrale".
