Blackest Ever Black here release a long lost album from Mick Hobb's art-rock project Officer!, first recorded in 1995. Hobb's was involved in the British post-punk scene in the late 70's and early 80's, before moving to the US and playing with Half Japanese. Officer! formed in 1982 with a constantly rotating membership. Dead Unique was recorded over the span of several years in Baltimore, and never released for reasons vague even to Hobb's himself. In any case the album itself was worth the wait. It's an exciting collection of raw clattering post-punk, with a wistful oddball edge, that constantly surprises and shifts gear. This is an absolute must for fans of left field barely there art-rock.
