With this Sacred Seed, Pura Fé traces the roots of Native American blues. 2005 The Last & Lost Blues Survivor, American label compilation Music Maker for rehabilitating forgotten musicians, we discovered an impressive voice, that of the Tuscarora Indian, artist and activist. Three albums followed in Dixiefrog imposing an exceptional singer of folk, blues and traditional music of North Carolina Native Americans. Pura Fé signs here joining Nueva Onda Records with eleven tracks that are accompanied by a new artistic direction under the leadership of Mathis Haug who oversaw the recording in a farmhouse south of France. The singer will forsake his lap-steel guitar to concentrate on wonderful vocal harmonies, echo the cello Eric Longsworth from a refined orchestration complemented Stéphan Notari (piano, percussion) and Mathis Haug himself (guitar, banjo). On compositions that draw their strength from the pre-blues Native American tradition, and texts that tell the humanist convictions of the author, plus covers of Duke Ellington (In A Sentimental Mood) and Norman Greenbaum (Spirit In The Sky) Pura Fé signs here his album at once the most intimate and the most adventurous.
