Estrellas de Areito - Cuban All Stars (2004)

Estrellas de Areito was an all-star ensemble of Cuban musicians assembled in 1979 by African producer Raoul Diamande and EGREM, the Cuban state recording company, to make a record that explored the roots of Afro-Cuban music. Over 30 of Cuba’s greatest musicians from several generations, including members of the Buena Vista Social Club, like pianist Rubén González, and the Afro-Cuban All Stars, like singer Pío Leyva, participated in the recordings and contributed to the relaxed, jam-session atmosphere of the sessions.
