Recorded at the famed night club on E. 60th Street in Manhattan in August 1966, Motown's main male star attraction was the second of Berry Gordy's stable of artists to perform at the legendary niterie; The Supremes recorded their own 'Live At The Copa' in July 1965. "Marvin Gaye Live At The Copa" was originally scheduled for release in early 1967 as Tamla LP 273 but for whatever reason, it was not meant to be - until now. This 17-track CD, mixed with care by Tom Moulton, represents the best of the five shows Motown taped during Marvin's second weekend at the venue and includes a couple of wonderful Motown medleys and three of Marvin's hits of the day, with the Copa orchestra conducted by Motown's own Maurice King.
