Sierra Maestra - Son - Soul of a Nation (2005)

Sierra Maestra are Cuba's finest nine-piece son band. Formed in Havana in the late 1970's, they were the first and remain the best modern group to play with the classic son line-up.
Sierra Maestra have revitalised a tradition to create a dynamic and modern dance style for a new generation.
This particular album is dedicated to Arsenio Rodriguez, with several homages in the form of an extended line-up of pianos, congas and trumpets.
