FunctionBay RecurDyn 2024 SP2 | 9.1 Gb

The software developer FunctionBay is pleased to announce the availability of RecurDyn 2024 SP1 is an interdisciplinary, computer-aided engineering (CAE) software package whose primary function is the simulation of Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD).

1. RecurDyn/Professional

1.1 Upgraded Functions
- (M47366) When opening a text format model such as *.rdx or *.rdyn, a version compatibility message has been added.
- (M47366) Version history information has been added to the RecurDyn page in the file properties window in Windows.
1.2 Fixed Problems
- (M47157) When changing the angle unit in the property page of “Rotational Spring” , the stiffness and damping coefficient were changed. In the case of rotational stiffness and damping coefficient, the Radian unit is only supported.
- (M48073) If you open a model created before RecurDyn 2024, a road data of a ground body within a subsystem was rendered in the wrong position.
- (M48581) The “Animation scaling” was still applied to the RFlex body even if its “Use” checkbox was unchecked.
- (M48581) When both FFlex body and RFlex body are present, and the RFlex body is set to “Absolute” type with setting a “Coordinate Marker” , the “Animation scaling” was not applied to any of the bodies.
- (M48581) When both FFlex body and RFlex body are present, and the FFlex body is set to “Absolute” type without setting a “Reference Node” , the “Animation scaling” was not applied to any of the bodies.
- (M48410) In the case of a model with a subsystem, after running the simulation within the subsystem and then reopening the model, the “Animation Flag” within that subsystem was not turned on and remained off.
- (M48612) When loading the model, entities belonging to a group were collectively changed to active or inactive. Even if they belong to a group, each entity can be inactive.
- (M48621) When loading the model, entities belonging to a group followed the group’ s render option. Even if they belong to a group, each entity can have a render option.
- (M48711) During the process of creating a “Design Study” , if no value is entered and the “Use Edit Value” option is set to “Equally Spaced” , RecurDyn was terminated upon clicking generate.
1.3 Changed Functions
- (M47896) The backup file creation feature removed in RecurDyn 2024 official version has been restored.
- (M48319) The viewer version now does not create *.rbak files when opening a model.

2. RecurDyn/ProcessNet

2.1 Fixed Problems
- (M48325) It is changed RecurDyn to have file permissions when simulating rdyn files in Python.

3. RecurDyn/Control

3.1 Fixed Problems
- (M47149) When importing *.rdsb file where the unit was created as a unit other than mm, kg, or N, an error occurred and it could be imported.
- (M47149) When importing *.rdsb created including PIN/POUT in versions before RecurDyn 2023, the entity was deleted because it could not be converted to GPIN/GPOUT.

4. RecurDyn/Durability

4.1 Fixed Problems
- (M48731) In “Fatigue Tools” of “Fatigue Evaluation” , after clicking “Direction Angle View” and “Add to Plot ” in “Plot History” scope caused crash.

5. RecurDyn/EHD

5.1 Fixed Problems
- (M47495) There was a problem with the “Output Data Export” for the set “Multiple Grid Region” in “Piston Lubrication” for the closed loop region.
- (M47495) When “Angle Gap” is 360 and “Circum. Grid” is an odd number, the position of points displayed in “View Nodes” and the position of the points in “Contour” were different.
- (M47442) Cylinder profile “Reference Marker” cannot be set when the “Lubrication” direction is in the Z-axis direction for the “Piston Lubrication” .

6. RecurDyn/SPI

6.1 Fixed Problems
- (M48622) When loading the model, the Connect ribbon icon was always activated because the flag was not saved properly.

7. RecurDyn/Tire

7.1 Upgraded Functions
- (M48671) The MASS = ‘ton’ is supported in the tire property file (*.tir). This applies only to UA, Fiala, and USER.
7.2 Fixed Problems
- (M47288) When using the user-defined dll in GTire, when searching for roads, only the range from -1 to 1999 in the Z direction was searched, and the simulation of roads outside that range was incorrect.

RecurDyn is Integrated Multi-Discipline (IMD) Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software. Its primary purpose is Multi-Flexible Body Dynamics (MFBD), which is the prediction of the motion of mechanisms and devices composed of solid bodies, in which the bodies can be modeled as either rigid or flexible bodies. RecurDyn contains many components, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Optimization Design, Automatic Control, Fatigue Analysis, as well as rigid Multibody Dynamics. RecurDyn has superior calculation efficiency because it is based on a recursive formulation. Therefore, RecurDyn gives the best performance in large-scale multibody problems (systems with a large number of bodies), including mechanical systems in which complex contact between bodies is very significant. RecurDyn also features a natural, Windows-based User Interface which is intuitive and easy to use, as well as a custom application development environment which enables users to automate complicated and/or tedious tasks.

MFBD (Multi Flexible Body Dynamics)

FunctionBay, Inc. is a professional developer of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulation software for the simulation of both flexible and rigid body dynamics. Our software solutions, which include the internationally-recognized RecurDyn, integrate many disciplines into a single seamless package. The core of these solutions is Multi-Flexible Body Dynamics (MFBD), which tightly integrates multibody dynamics analysis with non-linear finite element analysis.
